Abandoning subjects and objects in favour of colours, textures and shapes, Adrian Burns transforms the contemplation of the landscape into a portal to abstraction and the mystical experience of forms.
His pareidolic eye reveals the organic curve of a snowy valley, the geometric fragmentation of ice and waves, or the physiognomy of a face. By reworking his prints with graphite or acrylic, he emphasises the signs and symbols that mark out an underlying structure in the chaos of nature.
