The New Ensembliers

This book presents a new generation of architects and interior designers, invited to imagine the interiors of a changing world.

In 1925, at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris, modernity was cloaked in elegance. It was in this context that the figure of the interior designer emerged, a craftsman of total taste, capable of conceiving an interior as a whole: architecture, furniture, textiles, colours, volumes.

A century later, as our societies redefine the ways in which we live, represent ourselves and collaborate, the Salon des Nouveaux Ensembliers aims to reconnect with this heritage, opening it up to contemporary issues: eco-design, sustainability, the transmission of know-how and the promotion of French creativity.
