This "Celestial Planisphere" containing all the stars visible to the naked eye and the main curiosities of the sky’, published in 1884, was created by the illustrator Paul Fouché based on the book Les Étoiles et les curiosités du ciel (The Stars and Curiosities of the Sky) published in 1881 by the astronomer and great populariser Camille Flammarion, who also inspired a ‘General Map of the Moon’ in 1887.
