Publication to mark the opening of the Fragonard Museum of Fashion and Costume, Arles (July 2025).
For its opening, the museum brings together two Provençal collections: that of Hélène Costa (Fragonard) devoted to Provençal costumes, and that of Magali and Odile Pascal dedicated to Arlesian costumes. It celebrates its originality and craftsmanship through a chronological journey dating back to the 18th century.
Beaux Arts Éditions looks back at the history of this exceptional place, as well as its restoration, which took more than five years of work, the collection and the masterpieces it contains.
The publication also highlights the modernity of the costumes, the craftsmanship involved in their creation, and the various places where they are made, while of course showing their constant link with fashion from the 18th century to the present day.
An essential guide to Provençal costume, with magnificent photos, the testimony of an Arlésienne, exclusive interviews and expert commentary to learn and understand everything about Arlesian and Provençal costume.
