Artist's book published following Caroline Corbasson's artist residency at the Lee Ufan Arles Foundation as part of the Art & Environment 2024 prize, Lee Ufan Arles × Guerlain.
In 2023, Lee Ufan Arles and Guerlain will join forces to create the Art & Environment Prize, which will be awarded each year to a work that echoes that of artist Lee Ufan. As part of their commitment to supporting artistic creation and promoting art and the environment, Lee Ufan Arles and Guerlain encourage artistic productions that open up new dialogues with nature. The prize gives access to an artist residency at the Lee Ufan Arles foundation, followed by an exhibition presenting the results of the artist's research during the summer period.
The project presented by Caroline Corbasson for the Art & Environment Prize, at the heart of her research during her residency, focuses on the study of an ambivalent force, both devastating and life-giving: the wind. The book reproduces research documents, pages from sketchbooks and sketches, as well as a collection of poems by the artist. The collection is complemented by a critical text by Jean de Loisy, written especially for the exhibition.
