Highlights from the Sidarta Collection

Catalogue of the exhibition Highlights from the Sidarta Collection, presented at the Musée Bonnard, Le Cannet (28 June - 2 November 2025).

The Sidarta collection is being presented in its entirety for the first time. It brings together nearly 70 works by 28 of the most important artists, both men and women.

Begun in 2018, this collection is defined by its desire to bring together artists who may seem unrelated at first glance, but who are all driven by the infinite powers of light, colour and subject matter.

Created between 1850 and 1950, the works form a breathtaking and remarkably coherent collection: Balthus, Bonnard, Camille Claudel, Cezanne, Corot, Degas, Giacometti, Matisse, Morandi, Morisot, Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Seurat, Van Dongen, Vuillard...

The common thread that unites them guided the eye of a passionate collector, creating a dialogue between several worlds while favouring an art history in which composition, light and craftsmanship have meaning. These artists share with Bonnard an attachment to the subject, to its formulation rooted in the springs of sensation and the power of colour.
