In this second volume devoted to her work, Isa Barbier reaffirms the characteristics that had led to her work being described as light and ephemeral. Perhaps more explicitly, her approach now focuses on expressing the natural principles of things and finds its place within a context whose poetic roots lie with certain very ancient authors, both Western and from the Far East, as the book’s title attests. These readings have inspired ephemeral forms which, paradoxically, are put to the test of time in the historic venues where they are often exhibited.
