Recognizing that artistic freedom is now an adventure that has worn thin, Daniel Hourde decided to return to a traditional technique and materiel - using the lost-wax method to cast bronze - as well as to realism, as the best way to give more substance - and thus more soul - to his figures, even if this apparent classicism is mostly deflected by derision or irony.
