This A3-format book brings together a selection of 50 exhibition posters presented at the Collection de l’Art Brut between 1976 and 2026 and designed by Werner Jeker, who also designed the book’s layout. Through this project, the Collection de l’Art Brut wishes to pay tribute to these five decades of fruitful collaboration.
An internationally renowned graphic designer, Werner Jeker, originally from German-speaking Switzerland, set up his own practice in Lausanne in 1972. In 1983, he founded Les Ateliers du Nord with industrial designers Antoine Cahen and Claude Frossard. Particularly renowned for his posters and books, Werner Jeker also designs and produces visual identities, newspapers and exhibition scenography. He has designed the posters for all the Collection de l’Art Brut’s exhibitions since its opening in 1976.
Sarah Lombardi, an art historian, was appointed director of the Collection de l’Art Brut in 2013. Since taking up her post, she has focused on promoting the Lausanne-based institution’s collections, which comprise 70,000 works, whilst continuing to enrich the museum’s holdings through the discovery of new artists working in the art brut tradition, to whom she dedicates exhibitions and publications.
