Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1919, Gregory Masurovsky arrived in France in 1954. Settled in Paris, he devoted himself to pen drawing, a simple and ancient technique, of which he probed the multiple riches of expression, thus creating a singular and unique work in contemporary art, which stands at the crossroads of two major trends of the 20th century: abstract expressionism represented by Jackson Pollock and figuration by Alberto Giacometti.
