A monograph dedicated to Fra Giovanni da Fiesole, known as Beato Angelico (c. 1395–1455), one of the founding fathers of Florentine Renaissance art. The book offers a comprehensive overview of the most recent studies dedicated to the artist.

Its scientific value is further enhanced by the historic reunion of five altarpieces that had been dismantled over the centuries. The volume includes critical essays by Carl Strehlke, Stefano Casciu and Angelo Tartuferi, a study dedicated to the history of the Museo di San Marco and an in-depth chapter on Beato Angelico's frescoes preserved in the Chapter House, cloisters and cells of the monastery.
