At the end of the 1960s, Bernar Venet was one of the few French artists French artists to settle in the United States. The 40 years he spent in New York were decisive in his career, in particular working with the major major figures in minimalist and conceptual art in the United States and Donald Judd, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Robert Smithson and Frank Stella.

To mark the artist's 80th birthday, a retrospective of over 200 of his drawings since the 1950s.
Inspired by mathematics and physics, among other things, Bernar Venet focused his work in the 1980s on the concept of the line. Combining science and art, he developed his monumental sculptures in corten steel.
Bernar Venet has made Le Muy, in the Var, his home. He has created the Venet Foundation, a space that is both residential and professional, where the artist exhibits his works and his collection.
